Lithium formate
Details Introduction
Lithium Formate |
Formula: LiHCOO |
Molecular weight: 51.96 (anhydrous), 69.97 (monohydrate) |
Properties: White crystalline powder, density 1.46g/cm3It is slightly softer than KDP, brittle, and rarely cleaves. It is easily soluble in water, slightly soluble in alcohol, ether, and acetone, and insoluble in benzene, butanone, and chloroform. The optical transmission range is from 1.2 to 0.25 μm, with a transmittance of nearly 90%. The melting point of lithium formate monohydrate is 97°C, it loses water at 120°C, undergoes polymorphic transformation at 230°C, the melting point of anhydrous lithium formate is 270°C, and at 320°C, CHCOOLi decomposes into Li.2CO3, C, H2O. |
Applications: The lithium formate monohydrate crystal has high nonlinear coefficients, high optical damage thresholds, a wide optical transmission range extending into the ultraviolet, and can achieve tripling and quadrupling of the Nd:YAG laser at 1.06 μm, making it an excellent nonlinear optical crystal material, which is also commonly used in battery manufacturing. |
